Registering and Signing Up for Class
6th Position is a paperless dance studio! All participants must register and sign up for class via the Momence app or our website.

We do welcome walk-ins where space is available; however, first priority will be given to those who have reserved their place online. Our class numbers are capped to allow sufficient room for dancing, so we strongly recommend you sign up online to guarantee yourself a place!
If you decide to register at the studio, please arrive 15 minutes early; this will help us start the class on time. You will still need to use the online system to register at the studio so have your card details ready. Our teachers cannot accept cash.
You must be aged 16+ to attend an adult drop-in class at 6th Position, unless specifically stated (Teens or 1st Position program).
To participate in 6th Position activities, participants agree to register their attendance and provide 6th Position with their full name, phone number, email address, injuries and next of kin contact details in case of emergency.
Payments and Refunds
6th Position is a cashless studio - we do not accept cash payments for classes. By purchasing a membership, you agree to pay the full amount in line with the payment schedule listed on our pricing page.
Please choose carefully when purchasing your class pass pack or subscription. Our passes are non-transferable, non-extendable and non-refundable. Exceptions may be made in the instance of injury or illness where suitable evidence such as a medical certificate is provided.
Enrolment courses and terms are purchased in full or via a payment plan and are also non-transferable, non-extendable and non-refundable.
Cancellation / No Show
Once you have reserved a place in a drop-in class, you may cancel online up to four hours prior to the class start time with no loss of your class credit. All unused class credits are returned to your account for future use within the specified expiry period.
To cancel a class booking, simply log into your Momence app and cancel the booking in your schedule. All drop-in class cancellations are the responsibility of the student and/or account holder. Cancellations of enrolment courses and terms must be done in writing to the studio via email or the website contact form. Refunds are not given once the term has commence, however, credits for drop-in classes can be provided instead where advance notice is given of the absence.
Late cancellations (less than four hours) and no shows will lose the class credit purchased used to make the reservation. Exceptions may be made in the instance of injury or illness and require a valid medical certificate.
6th Position requires a minimum of four students to register for a class in order for the class to run. A minimum of three of required for enrolment courses and terms.
6th Position reserves the right to cancel classes where teachers are unavailable and relief cannot be found, or due insufficient student numbers.
Dancers will be notified as soon as possible by email if class is cancelled and their credit will be returned.
Late Arrival / Lock Out
Classes commencing before 7pm
We reserve the right to refuse entry to students who arrive more than 15 minutes late to class. The class credit used to make the reservation will not be returned to your account. This is to prevent injuries due to missing the warm-up component of class and disruption to other students who have arrived on time.
Please be considerate of your teacher and fellow class participants by arriving at class 5-10 minutes before class start time.
Observers
For the safety, security and comfort of all students, you must participate to attend a class. Observers are strictly not permitted when class is in session.
There is a waiting area at both of the Mitchell Studios where students can wait for the next class, just inside the doors, or on the benches outside.
There is an upstairs hallway with a couch and a waiting room inside the studio at the Northbourne Studio where students can wait for the next class.
General Safety
Please note, participants and visitors alike are responsible for ensuring their own general safety at the studio. 6th Position staff and teachers are not responsible for your safety. By entering the premises, participants and visitors agree 6th Position staff and teachers are in no way responsible for personal injury or death.
Classes may be physically strenuous and participation is voluntary, based on a participant's own assessment of their fitness, health, ability to participate and understanding of the class requirements, activities and expected outcomes.
Participation is based on an understanding and knowledge there is a risk of personal injury or death.
6th Position staff reserve the right to prevent participants from joining a class or activity where they deem it would be unsafe for them due to injury or inexperience.
Child Safety
Whilst we welcome little and young visitors, please note our studio is specifically an adult space and not appropriate for children aged under 16 years.
6th Position staff and teachers are in no way responsible for the general safety of children aged under 16 years, including injury or death. Children must not be left unattended and must be supervised by their responsible adult at all times.
Should your child/ren disrupt a class in session, we kindly ask you be considerate of your teacher and fellow class participants by quietly and immediately removing yourself and your child/ren from the studio space.
Food, Drink & Smoking
Only water is to be consumed in the studio. Consumption of food and other drinks is not allowed in the studio.
A breakout area is available for consumption of food and other drinks at both studios. Please dispose of your waste thoughtfully in the bins provided.
Chewing gum, alcohol, smoking and vaping is strictly prohibited from the premises.
Mobile Phones & Electronic Devices
Please make sure your mobile phone and any other electronic devices you may have are switched to silent or turned off for the duration of class.
We also ask you refrain from checking your mobile during class. However, we understand there are certain situations where this cannot be helped. Where this is the case, please let your teacher know before the start of class.
Photographs and Filming
Teacher and student permission is required for personal photography and filming of a class.
We ask that you please be respectful of all teachers' and students' privacy, and respect the ownership of your teacher's choreography.
Teachers will advise you before filming. You may always choose to step out of a video or photo. Still and/or video footage taken by teachers during slasses may be used for public promotion of 6th Position.
Conduct
All 6th Position participants, teachers and staff must treat each other with respect at all times. Any misconduct could result in permanent dismissal from 6th Position.
Privacy
The privacy of your personal information is very important to 6th Position. We will not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party. We will protect the privacy and security of your information to the best of our ability.
When you register for classes, we collect personal information such as your name, phone number, emergency contact, injuries, email address and birthday. This information is needed to manage studio business and will not be used or sold for any other purpose, except as described below. Some of the information is optional.
6th Position will access your personal information and/or share it with third parties only for the following purposes:
as needed for studio business
if required to do so by law or to comply with legal processes
to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of the public.
