A highly disciplined form of jazz dance that emphasises precise technique, strength, and control. Key characteristics of technical jazz dance include: Clean Lines, turns and leaps, isolations, dynamics, flexibility and extensions, and musicality.
LEVELS
Beginner, Intermediate and AdvancedAn advanced broadway-style is included in the Advanced Jazz class rotation and may be undertaken in chorus shoes. For Beginner to Intermediate students wanting to explore the broadway-style, we recommend the Musical Theatre class.

A class where you can dance AND make music with your feet! In tap we dance to many different styles of music, but also add our own sounds by tip tapping with hard soled (tap) shoes.

Contemporary dance was born in the mid 20th Century, breaking free from the strict structure of classical ballet. Expect to find new ways to move your body and different ways to express yourself through dance.

Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance that emphasises expressing emotions and storytelling through movement.
It is characterised by fluid, graceful motions and dynamic choreography that often mirrors the lyrics or mood of the accompanying music.

MUSICAL THEATRE
A Beginner to Intermediate level dance class dedicated to the Broadway-style of jazz dancing commonly found in musicals. You will definitely be working on your stage presence! Picture yourself the star of a musical. If you love a bit of the limelight, then come take centre stage in this class.

Kicks, Leaps & Turns is all about building the strength, control, and technique behind your favourite tricks. We break down foundations, drill clean pathways, and help you grow your flexibility, power and consistency. Great for dancers of all experience levels who want to improve their technique in a supportive environment.

DANCE CONDITIONING
Combining Pilates, PBT, strength training & mobility drills, these classes focus on strengthening, flexibility and injury prevention to support you in dance and daily life. Each month will have a different focus (turnout, back strength & flexibility, etc) to support different goals.MORNING BARRE
Prepare both mind and body through a focused classical barre, working methodically from plié through to grands battements.
Emphasis is placed on strength, alignment, control, and musicality, setting a strong technical foundation and an energised tone for the day ahead.
FLOOR BARRE
A low-impact but high rewards class for anyone wanting to strengthen and lengthen their ballet technique. Also perfect for ballet dancers recovering from an injury.

High-energy street dance style that originated in the Bronx during the 1970s as part of hip-hop culture. It emphasises freestyle movement, rhythm, and personal expression, incorporating styles like breaking, popping, locking, and krumping. Known for its dynamic energy, isolations, and connection to hip-hop music.

Designed for all skill levels, this class focuses on learning choreography in heels while promoting self-expression, body positivity, and empowerment. With supportive vibes and encouraging instruction, you’ll develop strength, balance, and technique, all while celebrating your unique style.

POINTE
One of the most iconic elements of ballet dancing. Pointe work requires specialised pointe shoes, in which ballerinas dance on the tips of fully extended feet. The aim of pointe dancing is to look weightless, poised and graceful, but don’t be deceived – this style of dancing is not easy and requires years of training.

This class is for dancers of all abilities aged 55+. It is a gentle technique-focused ballet class with minimum forward bends, no fast turns and no jumps or hops.
Our Saturday class also features a seated option for those who need sitting breaks or have reduced mobility in the lower body.

Beginner & Seated Swans (no experience or seated movements available)
Advanced Beginner (1-2 years ballet experience)

A level specifically for those with less than six weeks or no prior dance experience in a similar style. This level focuses on basic technique and movement. The intent is to provide you with a basic dance vocabulary that you can build upon when you are ready to move into your first Beginner class.

At the beginner level, students will take time to learn and understand movements and sequences. Students are learning correct arm and foot placements and choreography will be simple and slow-paced.

Suitable for those with two to four years of recent ballet experience, or five to seven years training from earlier days, in a similar style. You will have a good grasp on your beginner technique and be able to demonstrate good body awareness.
Elementary classes focus on learning more complex, quicker and bigger movements, with slightly longer exercises. Strength building remains an important component of class. You will also begin to explore your dance artistry.

Suitable for dancers with four or more years of recent experience. These classes will move at a quicker pace and expect you to be able to pick up most sequences and choreography quickly.
You will begin exploring advanced movements and should have a good sense of body awareness.

Advanced classes are fast-paced and suitable for dancers with five to six years of recent experience.
Dancers should be able to demonstrate excellent body awareness and knowledge of dance terminology. This level requires you to have the technique, coordination and strength to execute longer and more complex movement combinations. You will learn advanced technique, steps and combinations, and particular attention is given to dance artistry and polish.

This class is open to all levels and suitable for anyone wanting to give it a go.
If you’re a beginner, come try something fun and new. The teacher can offer you easier options. If you’re more advanced, take the opportunity to push your performance skills and practice your technique. The teacher may choose to offer you more advanced options if they think you’re ready.
