RAD LEVELS

  • A ballet syllabus class for true beginners!

You can choose to work towards your examination or just enjoy a class where the exercises don’t change.

This grade is very accessible for beginner adults whether you’re finishing up Ballet Foundations or wanting to add to your drop-in beginner level classes.

  • Grade 7 is suitable for dancers who have completed their Intermediate-Foundations Exam or are attending Intermediate/Advanced drop-in classes. It is also suitable for some strong Elementary dancers.

Please note this syllabus includes pointe work though you are welcome to participate without pointe shoes.

Participation in the exam is not compulsory.

  • LEVEL 3

The program includes well-known classical repertoire. Students will learn and dance choreography that they may have seen on stage, set to music, that they know and love.
The program is based on modular assessment, (not compulsory for 6P Students) to enable students to learn at their own pace.

Class Unit – barre and centre exercises. These have been designed with the classical repertoire in mind.

If students wish to also learn the Variation Unit which includes development exercises and a modified version of the repertoire variation, they need to sign up for that class separately. These two syllabus classes can be done separately or together.

Variation unit - Students will learn the developmental exercises and a variation from The Sleeping Beauty!

This is suitable for Elementary students and follows the equivalent of Grades 6-8 RAD or Intermediate Foundation to Advanced Foundation.

Participation in the exam is not compulsory.

  • Advanced 2 provides an in-depth study of ballet, continuing to develop technique, music and performance skills in complex settings.

This syllabus is suitable for Intermediate-Advanced dancers. To sit an examination you must have completed RAD Advanced 1 or equivalent.

Please note this syllabus includes advanced pointe work.

Participation in the exam is not compulsory.
