Frequently Asked Questions
This is all of the questions we’ve received so far! If you have any other questions you would like answered, please feel free to let us know.
-
No group dorms at all! The costing is based on twin-share rooms, and you’ll see on the itinerary there is also a lower cost for triple share rooms.
If you are a solo traveller, there is a slight increase in cost for a private room, or you can team up with one of your dance buddies!
-
That is entirely up to us. We will contact everyone again and begin moving forward on locking in dates and numbers.
If travelling over school holidays is what the majority of our travellers want, we can do that - However it may increase costs as a busier time to travel, and we would want to do our best to avoid also lining up with UK/EU school holidays, so some of the places we’re visiting don’t get too crowded.
-
Absolutely!
You’ll see on the itinerary there are several completely clear days for solo exploration, and even on the days when other things are booked (for example the performance at Paris Disneyland) you will have the entire day either side of the performance to do whatever you want!
You can also skip things like the guided tours, however it is important to note that due to it being a group booking, dance around the world are unable to take prices out of people’s individual packages, so you would still pay for the guided tour even if you choose not to use it, and to have that as a free day instead.
-
No!
You’ll see in the more detailed itinerary, that as long as you fly out of the same departure airport (Paris), you can delay that return as long as you want and do whatever domestic travel around UK/EU you want in between.

Once we have the tour group together, we need to submit a short three minute audition video to Disneyland, showing the styles of dances we will display.
This does not need to be filmed specifically for this purpose, and could include snippets from concert etc as long as they are from within the last 12 months, so we will decide on how this works once we have a firmer idea of numbers and dates.
The performance at Disneyland is a 20 minute performance, so would likely involve up to 10 weekly rehearsals similar to how concert currently works.
As noted, this would be done on a volunteer basis by our teachers, so no additional charges would be involved for this time.
-
We are waiting confirmation for this, but believe that would be the first deposit date, which depending on decided travel dates could be as early as April/May this year.
-
Of course!
6th Position is a very welcoming studio. As long as they are 16+ as our current enrolment guidelines state, that is absolutely fine. Feel free to send the EOI to them to fill out so they can keep up to date on info, or as we get closer to the time you can give their details with your booking and let us know they will be performing.
They will of course need to attend the Disney performance rehearsals, but there is no requirement to attend other classes.

Anyone you like!
Doesn’t have to be family - Any friends you like are welcome.
It can be a good way to take advantage of a group booking like this!

The travel dates are wide open and the trip can be taken at any time of the year.
With the proposed dates we were trying to do a few things. Firstly, avoid travelling in UK/EU summer when costs and crowds go up.
And secondly, avoid travelling in the Christmas period when travel is at its most expensive and people may have other commitments.
April/May was our first choice so that we don’t restrict concert at all, as that is a special time for all of our customers, and we recognise that while lots of people would love to come on this trip, there will be many for whom the costs will restrict that, and we don’t want this to take over concert, where everybody has a chance to participate, including through our free opportunities such as performing as part of a mentor piece.

Qantas flights to the UK will stopover in Singapore. The return flight will go direct from Paris to Perth.
-
Yes. There are two ways to do this. You can request a paid upgrade from DATW, who will provide you a quote, or you can try to upgrade with your points on the day, however this may not be successful.
-
No. The group will travel together from Canberra.
-
No. Deposits are unable to be returned by DATW. This would be a case for your travel insurance to assist with returns.
-
Travel insurance is not included in the package and is up to each person to source. You may already have travel insurance included with a credit card or other insurance package.
-
Land only package travellers will meet at the first hotel.
-
Yes that is correct. Return flight must be booked out of London or Paris, but can be booked for any date you would like. The flexibility is only for the return end of the trip - The entire group must start together at the same time, unless doing the land only package.
-
Australian passport holders do not require a visa for either the UK or France. If you are not an Australian passport holder (or are required to travel on a UK/EU passport, DATW can advise what your requirements are, but you must source these yourself.
-
Yes, transport is all included, and in most cases is a group bus. For the classes at Pineapple studios, you are provided a one day pass for the tube.
-
While you do not have to participate in everything, the cost cannot be reduced.
Please also be mindful that the dance activities have minimum numbers and not participating may affect the rest of the group, so you must notify at the time of signing up.
-
The dance classes have a minimum number of 15 students, so once we lock in our final numbers we will be able to divide into different workshop groups at pineapple (jazz, tap, ballet etc).
The workshop at Disney is one workshop, primarily in a commercial style.
-
At this stage, there is only one performance opportunity at Paris Disneyland. DATW is currently working on organising a second opportunity in France, and this may or may not be up and running by the time of our trip.
